It is not known whether bovine spongiform encephalopathy (BSE), a disease of cattle invariably deadly to them, can be transmitted directly from one infected animal to another at all stages of the infection. If it can be, there is now a reservoir of infected cattle incubating the disease. There are no diagnostic tests to identify infected animals before the animals show overt symptoms. Therefore, if such direct transmission occurs, the disease cannot be eradicated by ____

IMO:A

Dear Munda,
You are the senior among us and you are at a stage to give explanations than to expect one... :)

Anyhow.. here is what I used to come to my conclusion

First..There is point that states that the present way to diagnose is not at all good and is useless.
Second..virus can be transmitted at ANY STAGE but can be recognized at ADVANCED stage

So killing animals in advanced stage does not mean that the other animals are safe.. it can be that they are at initial stage of disease

the question stem asks for the choice which does not eradicate
i have the OA
its A
Now i can deduce that
if A is the OA then the other answers are supposed to be incorrect . LOL
So If A does not eradicate then i know the other answers eradicate
GmatBlood if you understood something could you share
anyways i should have put my line of reasoning there as well , but i have been posting a lot of questions of late so havnt been able to put my thoughts there . will do it

just because i have 1900 posts doesnt make me senior . Maybe i just started early .what if i put 20 posts in 1 day to put this huge pile of posts . LOL . Most of my posts these days, dont explain but ask questions . In fact people dont need to create so many posts to be good . In fact , it shows me in bad light . So I need your explanations all the more

whats wrong with asking for an explanation . By giving an explanation , you add value to the post . All guides/ compilations of questions/ tests come with the OA . If we understood the OA , why would we post on a forum . Just to get a better explanation right .
