Hi everybody,
I am appearing for GMAT on 21st April this year. I hope I have lots of time to prepare. I have already taken classes with ScoreGetter in Chennai, TN, India. What I feel right now is that I am little bit critical on verbal side, especially the sentence correction. I have been practising from the OG12 now and have Manhattans SC and CR, verbal and quants 11th edition, Kaplan' GMAT 800 and also Kaplans 2010-2011 guide. I think I have sufficient materials to practice. I regret deeply to the point that I have not taken a diagnostic test yet (little bit scared that I may score less, I know its normal). Humbly request you all to please guide me with my GMAT.

You have just mentioned the names of the books. What strategy do you have in mind as you move forward ? How to do you plan to tackle each area ? How much time do you plan to dedicate each day and over the weekends. What is your strategy going to be when you analyze questions. Figure out the answers to questions like this ,write them down somewhere and I think you should be on the right path. Keep us posted about your progress .

Well, I have time to work for around 3 hours daily. first I am planning to take on the verbal section, especially critical reasoning and sentence correction which i feel is very tough and then move onto quants. roughly I have around 8-10 weeks of time. so will provide equal time for quants and verbal. will start with OG12, then for CR and SC, planning to work on the mgmat guide. for tougher questions, I will be taking on Kaplan' GMAT 800.
also BTG is one of my main resources for preparation.

took a practice test today from Kaplan. scored pathetically very low.. 55% on quants and 59% on verbal. hoping to improve the scores in the next tests. working on OG 12 now and reading CR from Manhattan guides.

I have and have had even more problem with SC than I do now. However, the SC grail is a piece of work you need to read more than once to have a robust foundation of the concepts. But else than that, no book has really helped me with the SC. I mean you learn the grammar rules, but not so much how to apply them most effiently or what to think of.

By now the thing that really is helping me is the videos of Knewton SC classes. The teachers explain in those videos what actually will help you when you work with a SC problem. E.g. what sections can be omitted of a sentence, why etc.
For SC: Grammar rules + "tells" + application/practice, is the way to go.
