Hello! I am a senior graduating this year, and I am planning to apply for HBS and Stanford deferred admission. I would appreciate some honest evaluation on my profile & chances!

-Business undergrad in a Canadian university (2nd tier school)
-GPA: >3.8
-GMAT expected between 700-730 (one month!)
-Internships in five different industries, with each in different roles (including consulting one of the leading consultancies, investment banking at one of the leading banks, strategy roles at fortune 500 companies and start-up)
-Board member of a non-profit
-Other leadership roles in various extracurricular clubs

Thanks!

Hi there,

Profile evaluations for deferred programs are particularly difficult because they include a component that regular admissions don't incorporate - a projection of what you'll do between now and your MBA. When you apply to regular programs, that's been decided. It's part of your past.

Here's why I say that - on the surface, you have a lot of great components to work with. Of course, you haven't taken your GMAT yet so that part remains to be seen but let's assume you do well. Then what it comes down to is what you actually did in those internships (I don't mean your resume, I want to go beyond that) and why you want this MBA in 2 years. Effectively, this is your short and medium term goals but with a level of specificity that goes beyond the average.

I very rarely suggest setting up time to chat with us on these forums - I try to give as detailed and thorough response as I can in response. But in your case a conversation would actually be the best option - it would just be a lot easier to cover the ground we'd need to cover.

If you're interested, you can sign up here. I handle all of them myself so you'd still be chatting with me.

Hope to speak with you soon!
