First of all, let me thank you for responding to all the questions and providing your valuable advice to several MBA applicants..
I am an international applicant currently working in the Engineering and Construction industry in Los Angeles. I am planning to apply for the MBA (fall 07) program at Haas (Berkeley), Anderson (UCLA), Marshall (USC), Stern (NYU), Kenan Flagler (UNC), with an emphasis on General Management (Operations Analysis and Mgmt., Supply Chain, Process Mgmt., Strategy). I would like this degree to lead me into a career in Management Consulting.
I have recently completed the GMAT and scored 700 (Q50V34)
I have a bachelors in Civil Engg. (From Indian Institute of Technology - 2.8 GPA) and a Masters in Const. Mgmt (University of Cincinnati 3.5 GPA)
I worked for about a year and a half, at a start up management consulting company as a 'Process Improvement Specialist' helping home builders and developers identify product delivery processes and plan for development projects. For the last one year, I have been working as a 'Scheduling Manager' for a construction firm, assisting project teams in planning and operational logistics of several large ($ 20 - 40 Million) projects.
I was involved in several extra curricular activities, event management etc. during my undergraduate and graduate studies.
I was involved in some social service (teaching underpriviliged children) in India, and I volunteered for Cincinnati Habitat for Humanity for a year or so here in the United States.
I would like to know:
1. If the Universities that I am looking forward to apply to, are strong in the General management program (with respect to the course curriculum and the opportunities). Are there any other programs that I should be looking at?
2.Based on my profile, my chances of getting admitted into any one of these programs,
