Flyer: Appleseed Books is pleased to announce that our Summer Bookclub and Signing Series will feature six of the best new novels by local authors. Club registration fee includes all books, refreshments at meetings, and admission to each signing event.

Based on the information above, which of the following must be true?

(A) Summer Bookclub will be popular among fans of local authors.
(B) Most local authors write novels rather than poetry.
(C) Book signings will not be held during regular meetings.
(D) Only Bookclub members will be admitted to signing events.
(E) It must be decided which new novels are the best.

OA later some discussion. Please, explain your answer choice. Thank in advance.

Based on the information above, which of the following must be true?

(A) Summer Bookclub will be popular among fans of local authors.
-- no nothing about fans;
(B) Most local authors write novels rather than poetry.
-- not necessarily
(C) Book signings will not be held during regular meetings.
-- no idea what the regular meetings are..
(D) Only Bookclub members will be admitted to signing events.
-- one other option could be: they may do spot admission with a fee to a individual signing event
(E) It must be decided which new novels are the best.
-- They better be - other wise how do they present the six novels?

IMO (E) is my answer choice;

I would go with C. E is the strongest contender but. What is the OA?

Flyer: Appleseed Books is pleased to announce that our Summer Bookclub and Signing Series will feature six of the best new novels by local authors. Club registration fee includes all books, refreshments at meetings, and admission to each signing event.

Based on the information above, which of the following must be true?

(A) Summer Bookclub will be popular among fans of local authors. --> extrapolation.

(B) Most local authors write novels rather than poetry. --> the best novels are being chosen. That does not in any way mean this.

(C) Book signings will not be held during regular meetings. --> the signings and meetings are clearly distinct events. Contender.

(D) Only Bookclub members will be admitted to signing events.--> Contender again. But rejected this on account of two reasons - Getting registered does not say that one gets to become a member too. One may register in a club as a guest too. Also, it is only stated that people who register get access to all 3 events. Without registering too, people may have access to one of the events.

(E) It must be decided which new novels are the best. --> Contender. But haven't the best books already been decided?
