If half of 4 pints of apple juice is poured in to a 1 gallon container and the half of the remaining half is poured in to a 1 quart container. How much apple juice in gallons is required to fill both the containers (1quart and 1 gallon)? 1 Gallon= 4 Quarts = 8 Pints.
A. 3/4
B. 7/8
C. 3.5
D. 8/7
E. 6/7

Total capacity = 1 gallon + 1 quart = 8 + 2 = 10 pints
Both containers contain a total of 3 pints

Total juice required to fill up both containers = 10 - 3 = 7 pints = 7/8 gallon.
