Since this forum is for any topic of conversation... is anyone excited about the iPad? I myself am an Apple junkie. I've had 5 iphones (yes i know there are only 3 generations, but drunken nights really add up fast).

5 iphones!!!! thats crazy man

I've had 2 - 3gs and the previous version. Nonetheless, I'm using a shitty ass nokia old school at the moment... I have my 3g one "exclusivized" to a phone provider in Argentina and I'm in India now... so if I manage to get a job... I will have to unlock it --- never done it before so no clue how to do it :S

Cant wait to get my iphone back. What do you think of the IPAD?

Hope studies are going well.

I played with the iPad at the Apply store on Saturday. I love it... As much as an Apple fan as I am, I think I can hold off on getting one at the moment. For starters, I think applying to B-school is more important and that $499 would cover a couple applications. Also, I'm the type of person that would need to be connected to the internet at all times, which means that I would need the additional At&t monthly service. I'm not concerned about paying the extra $ but I would not go back to a simple 3G service. Even my iphone is 3Gs, so going back to 3G would be a step backwards. I will wait for either 4G or 3Gs service. I think the iPad will do better than people expect it to do, which is also great for anyone who owns Apple stock! It is a piece of art though!

I havent touched the thing but I will get it if I get into a bschool. im tired of moving around the world and carrying books, keeping stock.. its too heavy, time consuming etc. furthermore i want to have the ease of accesing a book when i want - the only reason i favor traditional bricks and mortar books store are to go and physically browse through a huge selection of texts. this opens up potential purchase opportunities. It would be great if there could be a way in which all the books I bought physically could be obtained electronically with the ipad... but thats an ideal world :(

did you manage to use the keyboard in the ipad? what do you make of it?

btw, if u get a couple mins check this out - never seen a better review of a product in my life! its so crisp, clear, to the point, every word is well thought out - im quite impressed.

I actually never had the 3gs only have the 3g... i made a typo. What do u make of the 3gs? is it worth it?

im off to do 30 problems before my interview :)

take care

Will text books be available via the ibooks store?

i did use the keyboard on the ipad... it will take a little getting used to, but just like with the iphone... people will get used to it.... it was kinda weird though

wohoa textbooks i dont know but... that would be great.. really cool.

imagine if the ipad/kindle or a platform as such becomes the norm in educational institutions (im sure it will one day)...
our kids will be learning from these platforms... i think its an extremely valuable resource - saves trees and makes our world more sustainable.

im off to slee-pppp
