I would pick B as the answer, we are looking at the answer which supports the black hole theory (and therefore undermining the cluster of stars theory)
The others are either supporting the cluster of stars theory or changing the scope of the argument

IMO OPtion B is the only one which is doing the job of undermining the highlighted statement in the passage. Also, this option can be reached by PoE.

Hi there! Actually I have no idea about the correct answer, but I hope that it will be D. Does anyone agree with me?

The last sentence of the first paragraph suggest that the concentration of mass In M87 is not necessarily a black hole; it might be a cluster of stars.
To undermine this statement, we need to prove that the concentration of mass in surely not a cluster of stars.
Answer choice B does it in the best way. Hence, B is the answer.
