I go for B as the premise of the question ask for reason to UNDERMINE the explanation that at the center of M87, there won't have any Blackhole AND in answer B: preclude the existence of CONTEMPORARY phenomena observed in M87 -> it can't be a cluster of stars.

My Explaining , to undermine something is to give a different justification or attack the reasoning.

Thus , in light of the passage , the reasons for force at the center is Black hole and cluster .

All other ans , talk about the cluster of starts , comparing other galaxy etc . ONLY B ans that there exists some other phenomenon ( might be black hole ) , but its not the cluster of starts , thus it undermines the cluster of star theory .
