If you're planning to do an MBA in the US, it may be a good idea to hire an admissions consultant in the US. If you have Skype, you probably can receive the proper attention and coaching.

Definitely dig through the archives on this site. There has been a lot of discussion on the past on admissions consultant recommendations. Two great admissions consulting companies partner with Beat The GMAT today:

Stacy Blackman Consulting
Veritas Prep MBA Admissions Consulting

Two other companies to consider:

Accepted Consulting
Clear Admit

Good luck!

If you want help from someone who went to the schools you are applying to, you should check out appmentor.com. All their mentors are current or recently graduated students from the top business schools. They are relatively affordable at $299.

In my opinion, Career Guardian is one of the best admission guidance & career counseling company which guides MBA aspirants to get into their dream B-Schools. What I experienced here was not just help in terms of NRI admissions and career guidance, but also the mentors, out here, are constantly motivating us so that we do not loose focus while working towards our goal.

In my opinion spending money in consulting is not a good idea if you have other options available you can consult the experts through internet or just by reaching them.

Veritas Prep has a tie-up in India with White Glow Consulting for GMAT prep. Here's the announcement with the contact info --> link.

If you are targetting the upcoming applications season, you can call them up and check if they offer admissions consulting services too.
