What is the least integer such that when divided by 25 or 7 it leaves remainder 1? (A) 76 (B) 101 (C) 126 (D) 151 (E) 176
what i did was multiply 25 with 7 and add 1, answer is correct but dont know how to quite solve it

I guess substitution can make this problem easier... It hardly took me a minute to dide by both 25 or 7 and get the answer... I got it as 'E'!

Suppose, question would be: find the least integer that divides both 7 and 25.
Thus it is asking HCF of 7 and 25 which is (7*25).

Now just tweaking a question little bit, it asks for the least integer that leaves remainder 1 when divided by both 7 and 25. So solution would be adding 1 to HCF.

hope it helps!cc
