Total number if desired cards is \(3\cdot 4 = 12\) (3 numbers and 4 suits each)

Total cards = 52.

Probability \(= \frac{12}{52} = \frac{3}{13} \Rightarrow\) option __D__

Total cards = 52 cards made up of 4 suits
Total number of 2's = 4
Total number of 7's = 4
Total number of 9's = 4
Total favourable outcome = 4 + 4 + 4 = 12
Total possible outcome = Total cards = 52
Probability of selecting a 2, 7 or 9 = $$\frac{12}{52}=\frac{3}{13}$$
Answer = option D
