just by logic, understand the meaning of the sentence.

Ppl with deficiency X eat Y which triggers Z.

This sequence is followed only in D
E is too wordy. by ambiguous IT. deficiency or enzyme.
B subjunctive incorrect.
A is 'Persons eat fava beans and discover that they trigger..' wrong.

Hence D

we can fasten the pace of selecting the answer choice by concentrating on non-essential and essential modifiers. In the original sentence,
Persons, suffering from a deficiency of the blood enzyme G6PD, eat fava beans and discover that they trigger hemolytic anemia
suffering from .... is a non -essential modifier. If we hide this modifier, the sentence reads as : persons eat fava beans and discover that.... does that make sense ? So, persons have to be modified by an essential modifier. Secondly, "they" in original sentence doesn't have clear antecedent.
