Analyze my scores

Hi,

I have taken 5 Kaplan online tests and scored as below

Test1: (Not CAT)
Overall : 740
Quantitative : 45
Verbal : 47

Test2:
Overall : 740
Quantitative : 48
Verbal : 49

Test3:
Overall : 720
Quantitative : 55
Verbal : 34

Test4:
Overall : 710
Quantitative : 55
Verbal : 32

Test5:
Overall : 730
Quantitative : 51
Verbal : 44

I seem to have a fair bit of consistency in quant even though my verbal varies. I am a little concerned that the scores are a bit low. Can some one from KAPLAN see if the scores make sense especially Test5.

Hi sgadipat,

Our overall scores should be pretty accurate--and congratulations, by the way, because those are some epic scores! Do not that our sectional scores are, unfortunately, not 100% on target--GMAT scores go only up to 51 on the Quant section, so a 55 shouldn't be possible. Sorry for the confusion--we're working on fixing that bug with the next release.

Hi Eli,

Thanks for the clarity on Quant score 55. I am just concerned that the total score in not in line with actual GMAT scores I have seen. 730 for Q55 & V44 and 740 for Q48 & V49 seems too low to me. What do I need to do to get to 770 range?

I just want to know where I stand at the moment, so I can concentrate on new materials. I have 30 days to go for Exam. So any suggestions would also be helpful.

Well, I don' think our scores are likely scoring low, but 30 days is plenty of time. It's clear you're a high-level student, so focus on high difficulty questions, check the few errors you are making for recurring patterns of error that you can avoid, and I'm sure you'll be able to make up those last 20-30 points.
