n(AUB) = n(A) + n(B) - n(AnB)

32 = 17 + x - 9 => x = 24

n(b) only = n(b) - n(anb) = 15

We can use the formula:

Total = Safe + Easy-to-handle - Both

32 = 17 + E - 9

32 = 8 + E

24 = E

Since 24 lawnmowers sold in the store are easy-to-handle and 9 of them are both, 15 of them are easy-to-handle but not safe.

Answer: B
