Am I too old for a second mba?

Hi I am 35, 10 years of solid work experience in Sales, Business development and general management. Work has started to become monotonous and hum drum.

I have been good in academics and working through the gmat etc should not be very tough ( Though its been sometime since I went back to the books).

I believe that this second mba should help me improve my learning, re-orient my career into strategic management, consulting or marketing, get a grip on the changed management paradigm, thereby renew my career and move it into another gear.

The questions are:

1. Is my thought process right?
2. Do premium schools accept profiles like mine?

I will appreciate honest replies. Thanks in advance for your time.

Dear himanshurajpal,

What do you mean by second MBA? If you already have an MBA, then most schools will not allow you to earn the same degree again. There might be some other graduate business programs that are what you are needing to shift your career to a new direction. I encourage you to do some research on your options. First, determine if your current MBA is viewed as equivalent to an MBA from the schools you are considering. Second, research other graduate degree options if the MBA is not a possibility.

Good luck,
Lisa
