I started preparing for GMAT little over a month ago, with MGMAT books, OG 11, official Quants & Verbal review books. I did go through most of MGMAT book theory and been solving OG 11 (will be finishing in couple of days-Round 1).
My ques is: How important it is to practise MGMAT book problems, though I will start giving the MGMAT CAT exams soon? How important is it to practise from quants and verbal review books? Is it necessary to buy OG 12 or shud I just repeat practicing OG 11 problems for a second round?
I am planning to give GMAT before this month end since buis. schools i am tragetting have a Oct 1st deadline for Spring. So, I m kind of short on time and I have to give prep exams soon to guage my progress so far with my preparation (I will update the scores as soon as I givem them, hopefully this weekend).
Please advice!

Hi,

I think the OG 11 should be sufficient - it's what I used to prepare for the quant section.

The only MGMAT book I purchased was the Sentence correction. I would do a few of the problems at the end of every section, but I never went crazy doing all of them. Just make sure you understand the concepts for each section; if this means doing every single problem, then do them. Otherwise, make sure you know the concepts and do the practice exams.

When do you expect to take the GMAT? Is your school's deadline Oct 1st? Make sure you don't neglect your application - it's probably more important than your GMAT score.

Take a practice full length test ASAP; this will serve as your best indicator for whether or not you will be able to meet the deadline.

Thanks for you advice and Congrats on your excellent score!
I actually gave MGMAT exam and got a pathetic 500, was totally devastated after almost couple of months of preparation. I have to re-strategize my study plan, I think I have start from scratch, go thru the M strategy guides and work each and every problem from the book to understand the concepts, and memorize formulas and rules (becos I almost forget everything, so maybe have to create flashcards while studying and review them regularly)
For sentence correction, did you memorize the rules from the SC guide? Can you plz share ur strategy for SC and RC?
I guess I may have to give the exam in Nov, it all depends how I perform in my next test maybe a week or 2 from now. I have to target BSchools with deadlines latter than Dec, I am out of job now and can give my 100%.
