Og explanations are sometimes incomplete. From this explanation , you are generalizing that "as" is always supposed to be followed by a clause . According to MGMAT SC guide, this Option is wrong because it uses "as" as a preposition to denote a Function rather than a comparison . The OG says we must use AS to denote a comparison , in which case as should be followed by a clause .

Forgive my late replying.@mundasingh123, you are right about the previous SC and its dubious source, but this one is from a book, not from a link I saw by chance, as in the former one. The book is called

GMAT CAT 8th Edition by Jerry Bobrow, PhD --Test-prep essentials from the experts at CliffsNotes.

The OA is C. and the provided "long" explanation as follows:

The first clause must have a subject, or it will dangle as it does in B, D, and E. The correct
pronoun is the plural they to agree with the plural three courses.

I find the sentence a bit awkward in terms of meaning. Why??? because "three advanced courses are requirements" it feels awkward. seems to me like a simple gerund. By the way, my bad, this term COMPLEX GERUND slipped out from my mind earlier. Though i already know about that term as i know a rule of parallelism related to simple and complex gerunds. You must be knowing it already...Rule is:

A Standard NOUN can be || A complex gerund

But both of them are not parallel to a SIMPLE GERUND.

EX:- Distribution (Standard noun) || The distributing of (complex gerund)

But both of them are not parallel to Simple gerund DISTRIBUTING.
