This sentence compares Brahms collected work which is five fewer than that of Beethoven's collected work.

Option A - correct
This compares Johannes Brahms' collected works to Beethoven's collected works correctly. The use of 'fewer' in the sentence is also correct as it is used to qualify countable nouns and symphonies can be counted.

Option B - incorrect
It is wrong because it compares Brahms collected work to Beethoven himself.

Option C - incorrect
This answer choice is wrong as it compares Brahms collected work to Beethoven. It also uses the wrong adjective 'less' to qualify symphonies which is a countable noun.
