Hey there,

Only connection word that makes plural is "AND".
Additive phrases such as; Along with, As well as, Together with, In addition to, Accompanied by, Including, etc... ALWAYS SINGULAR.

likes - singular.

John and his friend like to go fishing.
use of AND makes it plural.
