Hey guys, I'm new here, however I've been browsing for some time. Very helpful site.

I was wondering if you guys could help me out with understanding a particular Algebra type DS question.

This is my understanding thus far:

If you were to solve the statement 1, you would automatically receive a RANGE of values, hence 1 alone is not sufficient to answer the question,

If you then isolated statement 2, you will have 2 values for X and not the desired 1 value required.

I am puzzled as to how the 2 combined will give you a clear answer.

from 1st x can be either 2 or 3 not suff as we need only one value
from 2nd x can be either 3 or 4 same

from bth we come to knw that only one sol that is x=3 is possible

hence bth
It does not matter how many times you get knocked down , but how many times you get up

To solve Statement 1 i completely overlooked the simplistic method of simply plugging in values, I.E. 2 and 3.
