Aiming for HBS 2+2 but no considerable xtra curriculars

Hello

I am right now in the second year of my four year engineering course that I am pursuing from Mumbai University, India.I wish to apply for the HBS 2+2 programme after I graduate.

The problem is that I do not have a lot of extra curricular activities to bank on barring the fact that I am heading the sponsorship division of the biggest club of my college.

My grades are high in comparison with my peers at my university and I hope to get a high score in GMAT.

What I would like to know is whether I can get into the 2+2 programme of HBS without much extra curricular activities on my side and what factors I can improve upon in the two years left before I graduate in 2012. Should I look out for other colleges?

Dear harshil7,

You will be expected to have extracurricular involvement and evidence of leadership in at least one activity. It will be difficult to stand out from the applicant pool without it and lacking any activities will reflect poorly on you at HBS. In addition to high marks in your courses, the other things you can do to strengthen your profile are to get involved in some extracurricular activities with a leadership role and get some professional experience through an internship or part-time work.

Good luck,
Lisa
