Look at my prep scores

Today: GMAT Prep 2 Test, Q 45, V 32, Overall 640.
Day Before: GMAT Prep Test 1 Q 47, V 28, Overall 620.
2 Days before: Veritas Free Online, Q 43, V 26, Overall 560.
3 Days before: Manhattan Online Free Test, Q 44, V 30, Overall, 610.

Getting frustrating now... don't know how to kick myself over 680 ...

Any help would be appreciated... sitting in less than 2 weeks.

your quant score is kinda consistent. But your verbal score is going everywhere. Why don't focus on verbal for a few days. 2-3 days.
reading comprehension- I don't think you can do much aout this.
CR- yes, you might be missing a few things. For example I used to ignore other options when I got one i felt right. Also, my concentration level was too low.
But I think i am getting better now.
I suggest Doing a lot of questions on the forum. there are so many with good explanations. spend 2 minutes(not more) on doing the question and then read the explanation and see whats wrong.

SC- This you must do.. very easy when you get the idea. do a lot of problems and go through the important rules again.
ALWAYS try to eliminate wrong options. Quite often, you are left with only 2 options to decide between

QUANT: if you are already good with basics, then i don't think you can do much in two weeks. just go through Ian's , stuart's, Ron's , Stacey's, Jim,s posts . I am sure you will do much better than you do now

Thank you very much.
I know my V is not good, but the surprising thing is, I used to get really good Verbal scores when I started preparing, but now tis going down, dont know why.
Also, should I buy any more books now or only on concentrate what I have.
I've been through Kaplan 800, Kaplan Premier Program, OG 11, Barrons, McGraw Hills, Princeton Match Review.

I don't think you should expect to see dramatic increases/changes in score when you're taking tests daily. I would give your mind a break - do practice problems, but don't take a practice test for another week, or at LEAST 4 days. Address your weaknesses through practice problems/studying and THEN take a practice test. That might help give you the push you want.

I agree with myohmy. You won't see improvement simply from taking a practice test every day; you have to stop and study. Let's put it this way: if you tried to run 20 miles today and couldn't, do you think you'd be able to do it tomorrow? Probably not. You need to work up to it.

Take a practice test once per week, at most. The rest of the week you should be studying and drilling your weak areas.

Buddy,

take test, analyze the mistakes, then make sure u learnt ur lesson.

And verify the last one by taking a test.

Taking test daily w/o improving on what u missed is not a very good strategy.

Look at the questions you got wrong and if they are Q- relearn these subject areas and do plenty of similar practice problems.

Also, do not be discouraged that you are scoring lower on tests from companies other than GMAC. Many of them produce scores that are lower than your actual ability.

From my experience:
Kaplan average: about 665
Manhattan average: 700
My average on Official GMAT prep exams: 730

Actual score: 750

Perhaps you should take GMAT Prep 1 or 2 again after a few days working on your weak areas... It could give you a confidence boost

I have gone through a similar thing. If you can postpone your exam by a month it will be good for you. And in 1 month you can focus more on RC/SC/CR. Look at LSAT 1000series in that one month.
