Age can be a factor; it shouldn't usually be the one and only factor, but yes you would be older than the average applicant as well as older than the average job applicant post-MBA. It may depend upon where you want to work and how realistic those aspirations are. Employers hiring in MC and IB roles may lean towards younger applicants at least generally unless you can really show that is the right path for you; you are game for the longer hours and initial role you would take on; etc. For other types of jobs and employers it may not matter so much. For admissions to b-school, you want to show that you know for SURE why you want and need this MBA; that you do still NEED it for specific reasons; that you have clear goals for afterwards and ideally they are realistic and you will be viewed as 'hirable', and that this is the right school and right time for you. Some research may be in demand here on your part to ensure your story is clear and compelling, and you may also want to apply to a range of schools... sometimes slightly less competitive schools are more flexible (as are part-time programs if of interest). Finally some schools outside the US, for example many European programs, have a higher average age than many US schools; it can vary and you can search for "class profile xyz school" for more details.
