A) having finished a hard day's work, sleep descended on her

B) having finished a hard day's work, she felt sleep descend on her

C) sleep descended on her having finished a hard day's work

D) having finished a hard day's work, sleep had descended on her.

E) having completed a hard day's work, sleep descended on her.

IMO B

A. the modifier ' having finished a hard day's work' is followed by 'sleep', thus confusing who finished the work.
C. wrong with logic 'sleep' did not 'finish the hard work'
D. again wrong with logic and plus 'had descended' is wrong .. no reason to introduce past perfect here...
E. again wrong with logic ... sleep did not complete the hard work

B corrects the mistake with modifier.

A uses finished while E uses completed. I got the answer to be B as well; but if the answer were to be either A or E, which would it be? In other words, what is the difference between "finished" and "completed?"
