This sentence explains that Aerugo is the green "bloom" visible on many copper items, and is produced over the course of time by the exposure of the metal to the oxygen in the atmosphere.

Option A - correct
It uses the passive voice 'is produced' to logically explain the intended meaning of the sentence.

Option B - incorrect
The use of the verb "produces" is incorrect, because it is in the active voice, making "by the exposure of the metal to the oxygen in the atmosphere" illogical. Moreover, "that" and 'which" are not needed in the sentence.

Option C - incorrect
The verb "produces" is in the active voice, it is supposed so that the clause "by the exposure of the metal to the oxygen in the atmosphere" would not be illogical/

Option D - incorrect
This has the same issue as option C above. And both instances where 'that' was used in the was unnecessary.

Option E - incorrect
Although this option uses "is produced" which is correct in the passive voice. However, both instances of "which" are unnecessary.
