Hi,

I just gave my gmat and got a 630 score, my gpa is 3.6 and i have 4 years of work experience. I want to do a part time mba at NYU stern. Do you think the score will be enough or you suggest i take the test again?

Generally speaking, if your GMAT score is 30 points below the average for your target school it will harm your application. Your score puts you nearly 50 points below the average. however, part-time programs are a little less stringent because they tend to draw from a smaller geographic area. You score does manage to slip into the 10%-90% range for the school.

Your strong GPA should help offset the GMAT as would exceptional recommendations and essays.

If you understand where your weaknesses are on the GMAT and believe you know how to correct them, it would be worth trying the test again. However, be sure that you have made real progress before retaking the test. Repeated tries without a changed score can be more damaging to your application than would the original soft score.
