Hi everyone, thanks in advance! I was hoping to contribute before I asked for some help, but this is really getting me nervous!
I could type pages in regards to this, so I will try to be brief. I am 28 years old, my resume is fairly strong having graduated in 2005 with an Economics major, Poly Sci minor. My transcript is sketchy. I was required to withdraw my first year as I missed virtually all of my final exams. I had a lot of family and personal issues over this period and I really was taking on more than I could chew with the stress of University. With that being said, I got over it and took classes at another local college and got myself readmitted to University. From there on, my transcript was still sketchy, lots of A's, but lots of B's and a few C's, even one F. Once I graduated, I took a 2nd level 6 credit course in summer and got an A- and then two fall classes (third year poly sci, fourth year economics) and got A's in both.
After that, I had a fairly successful career in construction sales until the market gave out and in November 2008 I started at one of the big 5 banks in Canada as a trader. Since then I have been promoted 2 job levels to a management transition level (it's a big deal and very close to the fastest it has ever happened in our office, especially since you have 4 licensing courses to pass in order to just do the job and they normally take a year). I passed the first level of the CFA exam this summer, while working full time. So essentially, I have taken on a just brutal workload over the last 2 years and won every time. I am also going to have glowing references, 2 from past employers, 1 from a family friend who is a judge. I took the GMAT in 2006 and got 620, with a way lower quant score than I am capable of. I am planning on re-writing early December.
Is my transcript going to be a huge obstacle for me? How should I address this? My GPA for the last two years is around 3.1 and if you take all of my major and minor courses 3rd year and up it should be around 3.4.
I am sure that I can fire out a great essay, have a great resume. I plan on applying for the Part Time MBA at the Universality of Alberta, nice and local.

Any advice or recommendations would be appreciated!
