This Question is already discussed in this forum
but I have another doubt on adverb suprisingly

OA is 5 but adverb is modifying a noun tentative is that correct

Given its authoritative coverage of other science topics, the textbook's chapter on genetics is surprisingly tentative, which leads one to doubt the author's scholarship in that particular area.

'tentative' is an adjective. Since we have used the helping verb 'is' in the sentence, it has to be followed by a noun or an adjective.

'surprisingly', an adverb, correctly modifies 'tentative', an adjective.
