Are you sure about the OA ?

but please note that :

Gerunds are used when the action performed is real and complete
Infinitives are used when the action is fictional or will occur in future hence an incomplete action.

But this is a stylish issue and varies from writer to writer. If the OA is D, then what is the official explanation !! Are they referring to this difference ?
