Advanced section of MGMAT books necessary for 600s target?

Will I be taking a risk if I don't cover the advanced sections in each of the Manhattan strategy books?

I only require a 600-650 score range really so I'm considering overlooking the advanced parts as I am slightly pressed for time. I don't doubt the advanced study sections would help on normal questions but surely aren't they primarily intended for 700+ scorers?

make sure your base of knowledge is solid - don't worry about the advanced strategies too much. maybe if you just skim through the chapters before the exam... but i would just make sure that i know the easy stuff

Great stuff, thanks again Money9111 for the tips! I'll definitely learn the basics inside out but won't completely neglect the advanced stuff. In the final week before the exam I'll skim the advanced sections.

Start to taper down your studying as the day nears. Get a ton of sleep! What time is your exam?

Yes, sleep is definitely important and can easily be overlooked. Luckily I managed to book the afternoon session (12:30pm) so my brain should be peaking by then.
