Admission criteria- Harvard,Tuck & MIT.

by sireev » Thu Oct 30, 2008 1:20 pm
I have appeared for GMAT yesterday and ended up with a 650.Not the score I expected to get but it is what it is.I wanted to apply to Harvard,MIT and Tuck but these schools seem to be out of my league with such a low GMAT score.

Can someone help me figure out if it is even worthwhile to apply to these schools?

I have a low undergrad GPA but I have a strong Master's GPA(MS) and 8 years of work experince in Information Technology(non-business,another setback) area.

I would appreciate any input.

It is difficult to provide advice without knowing what your undergrad GPA was and if there were factors that contributed to it being low. Also, what was you graduate GPA and what activities are you involved in outside of work? There are many other components to your application besides scores. Do you have any unique experiences or skills? Finally, is it possible to take the GMAT again and aim for a higher score?

Thank you for the response. My undergrad GPA was a 2.5 and Master GPA was 3.82.I really do not have any extra curruicular activities. At thsi tiem taking the GMAT again is not an option.

If it is not worthwhile to apply for these top schools, what schools in the New england area would you recommend?
