One of the deadlocks often observed in GMAT preparation is either to build accuracy or speed. Accuracy is one of prime measures for GMAT at least for starting 10 questions and your score mainly depend of first 10 questions of each section. On the other hand, you have to solve all the provided questions in specified time. The amount of questions, you are unable to solve at the end of each section add as penalty. This means speed is also one of the main criteria tested in GMAT. While preparing for such a test, which measures both accuracy and speed, you often seems to fall in a trap as both these measures are inversely proportional to each other.
With less than 2 months to go for GMAT, my GmatPrep1 and other score seems to reflect very low than what I actually thought. After analyzing the wrong questions, i often felt that this questions would be very simple for me in normal circumstance(without timer). Its due to time constraint or might be due to mental saturation, which make us solve questions not in our normal practised OG or any other questions. Then comes a hangover i.e to approach questions keeping time constraint, however this can lead to disaster by being not able to grab the concept of the practise questions and also by forcing us not to realize our strength and weaknesses.
Many of our expert reviewer might provide a solution to this problem by saying “It comes with practise”. But this answer seems to provide a mental solution than a practical one. This doesn’t answer any of our questions in practical sense like How to approach the OG or any other practise questions or what should be the strategy for GMAT preparation.
I have almost 2 months to go for GMAT and yet not able to form any strategy to conquer this tricky but common problem. I believe it will some to me with experience but if I start taking experience of everything, then I will become too old to score 700+ score in GMAT. Hence its better to learn from other experience and expect that some greats like Erin or any other person may have some suggestions for us and guide us to provide an effective study plan.
