I read the sentence essentially as A proposed new style {of aircraft} could fly between ....
Since style cannot fly and only aircraft can fly hence A should be incorrect.


I thought D is better than as A because use of its clarifies being referred to aircraft as the subject of the clause

BUT I am wrong in my reasoning since OA is A.

A style of aircraft: here style means TYPE

A new type of aircraft can fly IMO A

our susscess on gmat depend heavily on sc because the frirst question on the test is sc.

our success on sc depends on our explanation of og questions which have only slight explanation from og.

so we should try to explane og questions fully.

"because of doing" is not idiomatic

in C, "with it skimming..." is wrong because it is absolute phrase. Absolute phrase shows the context of the main clause. it dose not show how the main clause is done. This is why its use is wrong here.

we need to know the meaning relation between absolute phrase and main clause to eliminate C properly. anyone know where on the internet to find the text about this relation, pls tell me . I feel not good enough to understand the point here. pls help

my questions is different. it is about absolute phrase.

absolute phrase has no meaning relation with the main clause(according to a grammar book). In fact, we make 2 sentences into one sentence.

The aircraft fly fast between 2 cities. The aircraf skim in upper air.
there 2 sentences has no meaning/sematic relationship.

and we create absolute structure which can have or can not have preposition "with"

the aircarf fly fast, with it skimming in upper air.

in this sentence, there is no meaning relation with "skimming" and "fly" , there is no causal relation between the 2 verb/doing. 2 verb/actions happen at the same time and independently. This is not intended meaning of sentence . that is why C is wrong

I look for text/article which tell more of the meaing relation between verb and verbal in absulute structure because the grammar books, though a good grammar book, say slightly of this relation. This question in og shows that we do need to understand this meaing relation for sc section. the problem to us, students, is that we underestimate and do not fully understand the og questions.

if we do not fully understand why C is wrong, how we can, on the test day, realize a correct absolute structure on the exam.

though gmat dose not test many hard grammar point, it dose test some hard grammar point such as absolute phrase. why absolute phrase is considered hard point, because most of grammar book dose not have full explanation of this point, which we need for sc.

so, this og question show that we can meet a case in which og explanation is not enough (normally), and grammar book explanation is not enough. that is why we are here in this forum and live on the expert discussion, a process that takes us a long time unreasonably. It is also clear that gmat has its onw standard for grammar but it dose not declare clearly in the og book and we have to infer the gmat rule by comparing the og questions of the similar pattern, a process that takes a long time even for experts. that is why the most effective way to study sc is to study only og questions with expert discussion.

pls, confirm/comment of my above grammar point, absolute structure.
