Let's try as follows

\(10R - R - R - 100 = 2000\)
\(8R = 2100\)
\(R= 262.5 \, \Longrightarrow\,\)E

A vacation lodge was rented for 10 days at a daily rate of $R.
So, TOTAL rent = (10)($R) = 10R dollars

From the total rent paid, the travel agency and the resident manager each were paid 10% and the cleaning service was paid $100
Amount the travel agency receives = 10% of 10R dollars = R dollars
Amount the resident manager receives = 10% of 10R dollars = R dollars
Amount of the cleaning service receives = 100 dollars

After these 3 payments were made, $2,000 remained of the total rent paid
We can write: 10R - R - R - 100 = 2000
Simplify: 8R - 100 = 2000
Add 100 to both sides: 8R = 2100
Divide both sides by 8 to get: R = 2100/8 = 262.5
