It is a common mistake to think that a solid melting into liquid and a liquid evaporating into gas is merely a result of changes in temperature when, in fact, changes in the state of matter is also largely affected by pressure.

1. Incorrect: when subjects are joined by "and", a plural verb is needed, hence "is" is wrong.

2. Incorrect: we cannot say "a liquids" - it is either "a liquid" or "liquids"

4. Incorrect: changes as a subject requires a plural verb, hence "is" is wrong.

5. Incorrect: not parallel
Solids -> liquids
Liquids -> gas
The correct form need is "gases"
