retail price = 20% of 200 + 200 = 40+200 = 240
10% discount on retail price = 24
final price = 240-24 = 216

Solution:

The retail price of the video recorder is 200 x 1.2 = $240. Since store employees receive a 10% employee discount, a store employee would need to pay 240 x 0.9 = $216 for the video recorder.
