Given that a can contains \(3\frac12\) cups of fruit, using one can, the restaurant can make \(3\frac12 / \frac12=7 \) servings.

So for 60 servings, the least no. of cans needed = \(\frac{60}{7} + 1 = 9\)

Correct answer: C

Solution:

We see that each can of fruit makes 3.5/0.5 = 35/5 = 7 servings. Since 60/7 = 8 4/7 and we can’t buy a fraction of a can, we need 9 cans to make 60 servings.

Answer: C
