number of tiles = (wall area)/(tile area) = (800*300)/(25*12) = 32*25 = 800.

The correct answer is E.

(We assume the units length is centimeters, just for didactic reasons.)


$$?\,\,\, = \,\,\,800 \cdot 300\,\,{\rm{c}}{{\rm{m}}^2}\,\,\left( {{{1\,\,{\rm{tile}}} \over {12\, \cdot 25\,\,{\rm{c}}{{\rm{m}}^2}}}} \right)\,\,\,\, = \,\,\,\,{{800 \cdot 3 \cdot 4 \cdot 25} \over {3 \cdot 4 \cdot 25}}\,\,{\rm{tiles}}\,\,\, = \,\,\,800\,\,\,{\rm{tiles}}$$

This solution follows the notations and rationale taught in the GMATH method.

Now, 800 / 25 = 32 and 300 / 12 = 25. Thus, the number of tiles required is 32 * 25 = 800.

Therefore, the answer is E.

The number of tiles used is:

(800 x 300)/(12 x 25) = (800 x 300)/300 = 800

Answer: E
