Let a, b, c, d, e be integers such that a = 6 b = 12 c, and 2 b = 9 d = 12 e. Then which among the following pairs contains a number that is not an integer?
(A) (a/27, b/e)
(B) (a/36, c/e)
(C) (a/12, bd/18)
(D) (a/6, c/d)
(E) None of these

D should be the ans

We can combine all conditions as below

a = 6b = 12c = 27d = 36e ----(1)
Since to fugure out answer choices we must evaluate each answer choices , lets start from backward , ie choice D

D gives a/6 and c/d.. Now a/6 = b is an integer ( based on eqn 1 )
c/d = 27/12 = 9/4.. Not an integer... So D should be the ans
