There is something that have been carrying with me inside my mind that i finally want to share with you all.

I've taken the GMAT 2 times (working on my third ) Now both the times i saw that the very first question on the verbal section was a SC question and unlike what i thought and what most people say, was the toughest question in the entire lot!!! There are speculations on the algorith of GMAT saying that its starts with a 500-550 level question and then increases or decreases in difficulty based on your whether you answer the question correctly.
But i found that this is certainly not true. I asked 9 test takers which includes 3 GMAT tutors (scoring 770 +) and they all agreed that the first question was an SC and was really tough!!! Most even agreed that it was the toughest question in the SC that they got through the entire test!!

Now is this a way that GMAT is trying to test your test taking skills. Is it trying to shake your confidence in the very first question? Is it trying to Make you spend more time that you are supposed to since its nobody wants to get their very first question wrong?

Did anybody experience the same situation? Comments and thought are appreciated!!
