Hi All,
We're told that a motorcycle travels at a speed of X KILOMETERS per P HOURS. We're asked for the number of METERS it will travel in S SECONDS, in terms of S, P and X. (xps ≠0; 1 kilometer = 1000 meters). This question can be solved in a number of different ways, including by TESTing VALUES.
To start, I normally would NOT use the number 1 for any of the variables, but since the answer choices are significantly different from one another, using the number 1 for a couple of the variables should be fine...
IF... X = 1, P = 1 and S = 3600, the the car travels 1 kilometer in 1 hour, meaning that it travels 1 kilometer in 60 minutes (or 1 kilometer in 3600 seconds). Since our S = 3600, we will be traveling 1 kilometer in total --> and that is 1000 meters. In simple terms, we're looking for an answer that equals 1000, when X=1, P=1 and S=3600. Based on where the "S" shows up in each of the answers, you should be able to find the correct answer without doing much math at all...
