Parallelism marker "but" means that whatever verb following it should parallel the main verb that proceeds it.

So the answer is narrowed down to D/E. I wanted to choose D, but "it will be become" is incorrect with the extra "be" verb, so unless there is a typo, I guess E has to be the answer.

I would go for A.

It is difficult to explain why but adding a verb after but is not necessary here. I think that is playing a crucial role here. Perhaps an expert may thread out the nuances.

d should be correct...

first after but that seems a bit vague. as if u read the whole statement majority see.....but that.... well seems something missing
d, e fill in the gap.

but e makes an error ,,if u see the sentence structure , majority see..but think the middle east would or could
seems non grammatical (would or could and also missing of that......... seems not making sense)

thus d uses that after believe and makes the sentence seem logical.

Good advise on "but being a parallelism marker"

Between D and E. D should be correct because usage of would is correct if the sentence talks about future in the past tense. But here we are talking about future in the present tense , hence we should use will here

As far usage of be after will is concerned "or " is also a parallelism marker

WILL BE or COULD BECOME

D should be the answer

I believe "but + that + it" is problematic, and I don't see one incident of such usage when that isn't following a command verb. It just seems like an awkward construction.
