Could use some help with an explanation to these questions, thanks!

1. Of the 12 temporary employees in a certain company, 4 will be hired as permanent employees. If 5 of the 12 temporary employees are women, how many of the possible groups of 4 temporary employees consists of 3 women and 1 man?

A) 20
B) 35
C) 56
D) 70
E) 105

2. For every integer k from 1 to 10, the kth term of the sequence is given by ((-1)^k+1)*(1/2^k). If T is the sum of the first 10 terms in the sequence, then T is:

please search the threads for 2 and 3 they're already there.

for first one

5 women and 7 men are in the group

3 women from total of 5 can be selected in 5c3 ways and 1 man from 7 can be selected 7c1
total will be 5c3 * 7c1 = 70

but to make it short

say x be minimum population of one town, so rest of 10 towns can have population i.e. 10% more than x = 1.1x

so x + 10(1.1x) = 132000
12x = 132000 so x = 11000
