If a* = (2 a + 6)/4, and a = 3 b + 1, then a* equals
(A) 0.5b + 1.5
(B) 1.5b + 2
(C) 1.5b - 2
(D) 6b + 7
(E) b - 1/3

(2a+6)/4=(a+3)/2=(3b+4)/2=1.5b+2
