Given that in 1 sec a computer can perform 10^6 calculations

so in hour (3600 seconds) a computer can perform 3600 * 10^6 which is 3.6* 10^9 (Converting it into form the question is asked)

So to perform 3.6*10^11 calculations, a computer will need 100 hours.

1 million (6 zeros) per second.

We need to perform 3.6*(10^11). Which is 36*10^10. Let's take out the million (6 zeros so we are left with 4 zeros) 36,0000 Million.

We need the number of hours so let's divide by 3600. (60minutes*60seconds)

360000/3600=100

We note that 1,000,000 = 10^6. Thus, the number of seconds it takes to perform 3.6*10^11 calculations is:

(3.6*10^11 / 10^6) = 3.6 x 10^5

Since 1 hour = 3600 seconds, the number of hours is:

3.6 x 10^5 / 3.6 x 10^3 = = 10^2 = 100

Answer: B
