Hello all,

I am looking to improve verbal scores considerably. Practice test results are usually around the 620 mark Q(45-47) V(31-33).

I have trouble with Sentence Correction. It seems to be a fairly common issue...

I have MGMAT SC guide, and even after completing it my sentence skills are still poor.

I know I have trouble analyzing sentence structure. This is my biggest issue. If nothing else, please can I have help with this.

Should I memorize a list of structures? Has anyone created a list of structures?

There is a lot of material in the MGMAT SC guide. How does one condense the volume?

I don't think my grammar foundations are strong. Is it worth buying a high school grammar book?

I feel that I'm getting overwhelmed by grammatical terms. Should I know these terms?

Hello!
So here are some answers
1) You need to know grammar terms in so much as they help you understand the grammar rules. To give a simple example- If you don't know what a misplaced modifier is then it's hard to correct it. However, I didn't find it necessary to know the names of all the verb tenses (however, I'm a native speaker)
2) The manhattan SC book is dense. You'll probably have to go through it at least twice if not more ( I went through it 3 times)
3) You don't have to write out the whole book, but when you're taking notes (to condense the book) write out stuff that you have trouble with.

My plan of action is as follows:-

1) Use Grockit to pin point my weak areas.
2) Revisit MGMAT and taking notes in areas of weakness as indicated by Grockit analysis.

Ironically, not only am I a native speaker, I am also British, lol!

Although I have to point out the GMAT is in American English, (excuse), haha!

Yeah, you have the more popular (according to most ladies) but the less practical English
