The OA is B
No. of ways 3 novels can be chosen = 5C3 = (5.4.3.)/(1.2.3) = 10;
No. of ways 2 non-fiction books can be chosen = 4C2 = (4.3.)/(1.2) = 6;

Required no. of ways = 10*6 = 60

Correct answer: B

3 novels can be selected out of 5 in 5C3 ways.
2 non fiction books can be selected out of 4 in 4C2 ways.

since the question involves "and" we will multiply both. Thus, Ans is 60

Solution:

The number of ways to choose 3 novels from 5 is 5C3 = (5 x 4 x 3)/(3 x 2) = 10, and the number of ways to choose 2 non-fiction books from 4 is 4C2 = (4 x 3)/2 = 6. Therefore, the number of ways to choose 3 novels and 2 non-fiction books is 10 x 6 = 60.

Answer: B
