Difficulty—

A bakery sells white bread for certain price and rye bread for a certain price. If Chris, Matt and John bought bread in this bakery, how much did Chris pay for 2 pieces of white bread and 3 pieces of rye bread?

(1) Matt bought 2 pieces of white bread and 2 pieces of rye bread for $8.80.
(2) John bought 4 pieces of white bread and 6 pieces of rye bread for $22.20.

The OA is the option B.

Could someone explain this DS question to me? I don't know how to solve it. Thanks for your help.

What is the value of 2W + 3R?

Statement 1:
2W + 2R = 880.
No ways to determine the value of 2W + 3R.
INSUFFICIENT.

Statement 2:
4W + 6R = 2220
2R + 3W = 1110.
SUFFICIENT.

The correct answer is B.
