Meaning & Error Analysis:
The members did two things - they "made" monthly payment and "took turns drawing...". Hence, these two activities are parallel and hence should be separated by 'and' with "members" as the subject for both the verbs.

Verb "taking" must be parallel to verb "made" to make the list parallel.

Answer Choice Analysis:

Choice A: This choice has parallelism errors as discussed above.
Choice B: Verb "taking" is not parallel to "made".
Choice C: Correct. Verb "made" is parallel to verb "took".
Choice D: "Then took turns" doing what? The independent clause after comma makes it a run-on sentence.
Choice E: Same as choice B.

Hi e-gmat, am just curious; If some of the options were:

(i) subscriptions, taking turns drawing
(ii) subscriptions, taking turns to draw

How do we eliminate both in the context of the original question?

Tense error. Doesn't agree with "were organized" and "made monthly payments"

(B) subscriptions, and then taking turns drawing
See 'A'

(C) subscriptions and then took turns drawing
Hold

(D) subscriptions and then took turns, they drew
Hold

(E) subscriptions and then drew, taking turns
See 'A'

Between the two options that I am holding, I like 'C' the most. I'm sure someone could offer a more intelligent reason, but I have never heard or read someone or something say "then took turns, they drew."

Answer: C
I don't know what to say, really. Three minutes to the biggest battle of our professional lives. You find out life's this game of inches, so is football. Because in either game - life or football - the margin for error is so small. I mean, one half a step too late or too early and you don't quite make it. One half second too slow, too fast and you don't quite catch it. I'll tell you this, in any fight it's the guy whose willing to die whose gonna win that inch. That's football guys, that's all it is. Now, what are you gonna do?
